Allow a minimum of 90 days for processing of the application for Licence of Occupation, depending on meeting schedule. The application must be submitted to the Engineering and Public Works Committee for approval and, unless delegated by by-law,
approved by Muskoka District Council. You will be notified in writing once the application has been approved and you will be required to sign a Licence of Occupation Agreement prior to the onset of construction and/or use of the installation/structure.
Please note that the applicant may be requested to provide additional information to District of Muskoka staff, should it be required.
The applicant is responsible to ensure compliance with all applicable by-laws.
The applicant is hereby notified that upon licence approval, the District of Muskoka shall notify the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) of the licenced occupation. Any property tax liabilities associated with the occupation shall be the responsibility of the applicant.

Requirements for a Special Event Application

1- Completion of License of Occupation application.
2- Sketch/drawings with dimensions
3- Copy of Deed or Transfer document
4- Site Plan
5- Photos of the area and existing structures
6-  By Law Approval
7- Certificate of Insurance (COI)
PLEASE NOTE: A Certificate of Insurance (COI) which includes The District Municipality of Muskoka as the certificate holder as well as an additional insured. Your certificate should also note that the District will be provided at least thirty (30) days notice of cancellation of the policy.
